SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Bureau of Land and Waste Management PUBLIC NOTICE of DRAFT PERMIT Topic: Spartanburg County Class 2 Landfill Location: 595 Little Mountain Road, Wellford, Spartanburg County, SC The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services' (SCDES) Solid Waste Permitting and Monitoring Section has received a permit application for a proposed overlay expansion of the existing Spartanburg County Class 2 Landfill. The Department has determined that the request meets all technical requirements of the solid waste regulations and has written a draft permit for the proposed expansion. The draft permit has not been approved and is open for public comment through July 3, 2026. Where there is significant public interest, SCDES may hold a public meeting or hearing to explain the permitting process and receive additional comments.
