TO THE ABOVE NAMED DEFENDANTS: YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED to answer the complaint in this action, and to serve a copy of your answer, or, if the complaint is not served with this summons, to serve a notice of appearance, on the plaintiffs' attorneys within twenty (20) days after the service of this summons, exclusive of the day of service, where service is made by delivery upon you personally within the state, or within thirty (30) days after completion of service where service is made in any other manner. In case of your failure to appear or answer, judgment will be taken against you by default for the relief demanded in the complaint.

To the above-named Defendants: John Doe and Jane Roe, being the unknown heirs of Adelia Cumming, Sabrina Cumming, & Caroline Cumming:
The foregoing summons is served upon you by publication pursuant to an Order of the Hon. Eugene D. Faughnan, a Justice of the Supreme Court, County of Broome, dated October 3, 2025, and filed on October 3, 2025, with the supporting papers in the office of the Clerk of the County of Broome. The object of this action is to seek quiet title to a certain tract of real property located in the County of Broome, such relief seeking a Judgment which would affect the title to, or the possession, use or enjoyment of said real property. The following is a description of the real property affected by said action: Approximately +/- .41 acres of the premises known as Broome County Tax Parcel number 121.04-1-20. Such parcel is located at 906 North Sanford Road, Town of Sanford. The legal description is as follows: "All that piece and parcel of Land situate in the Town of Sanford, County of Broome, State of New York, being part of a lot in Lot No. 41 in Walter Livingston's 2nd or Middle division. Said piece begins in the West line of said lot No. 41, near the junction of the roads, about 30 links South of a small bridge on the highway, thence S. 83° E. (as the needle points 1872) 2.24 chains to a stake and stones; thence S. 7 W. 2.24 chains to a stake and stones; thence N. 83° W 2.24 chains to the West line of said lot No. 41 in the said highway, thence along the said highway N. 7° E. 2.24 chains in the place of beginning, containing by computation one half acre of land, more or less."
You are hereby summoned and required to serve a copy of an answer to the complaint on the Plaintiffs' attorneys within thirty days after the completion of service. In case of your failure to appear or answer, judgement will be taken against you by default for the relief demanded in the compliant.
