School Board Member Vacancy The South Lyon Community School District is seeking applications for a current vacant position on their Board of Education because of the resignation of Anthony Abbate. An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position until the November 2026 Election. You must be a registered school elector to apply. Interested persons must submit the following items to the Superintendent's office no later than 12 noon on Friday, December 12, 2025. • A letter of interest and resume/qualifications • Written responses to the interim candidate questionnaire. (The questionnaire will be available in the Superintendent's office or on the district website (www.slcs.us) Following a review of the submitted materials at a study session on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., the Board will schedule interviews with selected candidates. Not all candidates for the board vacancy may be interviewed. A special meeting has been scheduled on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. to conduct interviews and determine the member appointment.
