TOWN OF WASHINGTON 405 N Washington ST Washington, LA 70589 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES July 21, 2025, at 6:00 pm Mayor Landreneau called the regular council meeting to order. The following council members attended: Erick Fontenot, Beau Wilson, Tanya Doucet and Mary Lavergne. Absent: Rogers Malveaux. A quorum was noted. Prayer and pledge were recited. Public Comments were given by residents, Elaine Dean, Melissa Robinett, Donna Dardeau, Victor Bermudes, and Tara Higginbotham regarding concerns about animal cruelty and need for Animal Ordinance enforcement. Beau Wilson moved to approve Council Meeting Minutes from June 2025 meeting; The motion carried. Tanya Doucet moved to accept and approve the June 2025 Financials with budget to actual comparison; The motion carried. Progress given of resolving Audit Findings FY 23-24. Tanya Doucet moved to approve Resolution for the Town of Washington Council Adopting the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire YEAS: Erick Fontenot, Beau Wilson, Tanya Doucet, and Mary Lavergne; NAYS: None; ABSENT: Rogers Malveaux; ABSTAIN: None; The motion carried. Mary Lavergne moved to approve Resolution Supporting American Legion Post 209 Sponsorship of the United States Marine Band Performance in Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America; YEAS: Erick Fontenot, Beau Wilson, Tanya Doucet, and Mary Lavergne; NAYS: None; ABSENT: Rogers Malveaux; ABSTAIN: None; The motion carried. Tanya Doucet moved to approve Resolution Authorizing the Mayor and Chief of Police to Sign a Mutual Law Enforcement Assistance Agreement; YEAS: Erick Fontenot, Beau Wilson, Tanya Doucet, and Mary Lavergne; NAYS: None; ABSENT: Rogers Malveaux; ABSTAIN: None; The motion carried.
