FY 2026 Joint CDBG Application
The West Brookfield Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing during their meeting on March 31, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the West Brookfield Town Hall, located at 2 East Main Street, West Brookfield, MA. The public is encouraged to attend this hearing to discuss a joint FY 2026 application by the towns of West Brookfield, East Brookfield, Barre, and Hardwick for up to $1,350,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. In the event the meeting is canceled, the hearing will be rescheduled during the Planning Board's meeting on April 6th, 2026, at 6 PM.
The towns seek public input on potential grant-funded projects. Potential projects under consideration for the application currently include 1) Front Street Improvement Project (West Brookfield), 2) Depot Neighborhood Infrastructure Planning Study (W. Brookfield), 3) ADA Self-Evaluation & Transition Plan (W. Brookfield), 4) Town Complex Playground Design Project (East Brookfield) 5) Barre Senior Center Improvement Project, 5) Elm and/ or Oak Street Improvement Project (Barre); 6) Memorial Park Design Project (Hardwick). These projects were identified as priorities that align with the community planning efforts in all participating towns.
All persons with questions or comments regarding the grant application will have an opportunity to be heard. If awarded, the Town of West Brookfield will be responsible for administration of the grant program with assistance from the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC). Those unable to attend the hearing may mail written comments to the West Brookfield Board of Selectmen, 2 East Main Street, West Brookfield, Ma 01585, or comments may be emailed to CMRPC at joleary@cmrpc.org. Comments must be received no later than March 30th, 2026.
The West Brookfield Town Hall is handicapped accessible.
