ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
NOTICE OF HEARING
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
In compliance with the pertinent provisions of the Township of Chester Planning and Zoning Code, and the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Act, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq., notice is hereby given that the undersigned has filed a timely appeal of the Zoning Officer's "final" Zoning Violation Notice dated September 5, 2025, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-72(a). The Notice of Appeal, filed on September 17, 2025, challenges the written determination and enforcement action set forth in Violation No. ZV-25-00029 concerning the property located at 5 Ming Court, designated as Block 41, Lot 1.04. In addition to the above referenced appeal, notice is also hereby given that a written application has been filed by the undersigned with the Township of Chester Zoning Board of Adjustment seeking conditional use variance relief pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-70(d)(3) in order to permit the existing single-family dwelling situated at 5 Ming Court to continue to be occupied by a group of individuals in recovery, known as a cooperative sober living residence ("CSLR"), and allow them to live together in sobriety as a single housekeeping unit as defined by New Jersey law. This application concerns property shown as Block 41, Lot 1.04 on the Township of Chester Tax Map, which property is located at 5 Ming Court, and is situated within the R-3 Zoning District.
Public hearing on the above-mentioned appeal and application has been scheduled for March 23, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. located at One Parker Road, Chester Township, NJ 07930 at which time and place any interested party (as defined in N.J.S.A. 40:55D-4) will have an opportunity to be heard.
All documents relating to this appeal and application may be inspected by the public during regular business hours in the office of the Board Secretary of the Township of Chester Zoning Board of Adjustment, One Parker Road, Chester Township, NJ 07930. Please take further notice that the Board may, at its discretion, adjourn, postpone or continue said hearing from time to time and you are hereby notified that you should make diligent inquiry of the Board Office concerning such adjournments, postponements or continuations.
