Town of Brighton, Marathon County: Notice of Ordinance Number 21 adoption
Please take notice that the Town of Brighton adopted Ordinance 21, Dog Licensing and Control on December 9, 2025. Ordinance 21 regulates, by tag and penalty, the care, treatment, and control of dogs in the town. Dogs running at large, unlicensed, abandoned, or disturbing residents may result in a citation. Dogs used by law enforcement, actively engaged in legal hunting activity including training, unlicensed for educational or scientific purposes or used for assistance by the blind, deaf, or mobility impaired are exempt from this ordinance. Any person, partnership, corporation, or other legal entity that fails to comply with the provisions of the ordinance shall, upon conviction, pay a forfeiture
