Town of Kennebunkport Notice of Public Hearing A public hearing will be held at the Kennebunkport Village Fire Station at 32 North Street on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. by the Kennebunkport Selectboard, Planning Board and Growth Planning Committee to take public comment on the following topics to be voted on by Referendum Ballot at the November 4, 2025, Special Town Meeting. 1. Bond for the construction of a new town hall. 2. Bond for Solar and Geothermal for the town hall project. 3. Bond for bird safe windows for the town hall project. 4. Amendment to the Shellfish Conservation Ordinance – Compliance with State of Maine and Department of Marine Resources Guidelines.Amendment to the 5. Floodplain Management Ordinance – Update reference citations in the ordinance due to the inclusion of the AO requirements in the June 2025 amendment. 6. Amendment to the Land Use Ordinance – Compliance with Maine Shoreland Zoning laws and State Housing Laws in addition to adding clarifying language for roomers' licenses and bunkhouses. The changes also add new provisions for utility placements under roads and rights of way, setbacks on private rights of way. 7. Amendment to Short Term Rental Ordinance - Allow for the transfer of a license to a sibling or niece/nephew of a current owner, provides for an appeal process for denial of an application, limits number of licenses per lot, clarifies new lodging establishment definition.
