The following council members attended: Erick Fontenot, Ricky Ducote, Tanya Doucet and Mary Lavergne. Absent: Rogers Malveaux. A quorum was noted. Public Comments Opened for Ordinance Alcoholic Beverage Permit. Public Comments Opened for Ordinance to Extend the Corporate Limits of the Town of Washington to Include Certain Tracts of Lands in Accordance with LA RS 33:172(A),(B); 33:173. Parcel #0500260905. Public Comments were given by Karen McKinney 402 Hinckley St., Donna Dardeau 344 Dejean St. and Stephanie Tompkins 410 E Carriere St all of Washington, LA commented regarding noise concerns due to the Alcohol Ordinance expanding boundaries to St. Landry Veteran's Memorial Blvd. The meeting was adjourned. REGULAR MEETING MINUTES April 20, 2026, at 6:00 pm Mayor William Dwight Landreneau called the Regular Meeting to order. The following council members attended: Erick Fontenot, Ricky Ducote, Tanya Doucet and Mary Lavergne. Absent: Rogers Malveaux. A quorum was noted. Public comments were made by Donna Dardeau regarding noise concerns and hours of alcohol sales. Tanya Doucet moved to approve Council Meeting Minutes from March 16, 2026; all in favor and the motion carried. Erick Fontenot moved to approve Special Meeting Minutes for April 13, 2026; all in favor and the motion. Tanya Doucet moved to accept and approve March 2026 Financials with Budget to Actual Comparison; all in favor and the motion carried Progress of resolving Audit Findings FY 24-25 Erick Fontenot moved to approve Debt Service Policy; all in favor and the motion carried. Mary Lavergne moved to approve Card Policy and Procedures; all in favor and the motion carried. Erick Fontenot moved to adopt Ordinance Alcoholic Beverage Permit YEAS: Erick Fontenot, Ricky Ducote, Tanya Doucet, and Mary Lavergne; NAYS: None; ABSENT: Rogers Malveaux; ABSTAIN: None; The motion carried.
