ANNUAL TRUSTEE & LEVY ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the School Trustee & Levy Election for Ulm School District No. 85, Cascade County, Montana will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The purpose of the election is to elect two (2) trustees for a three-year term and to ask voters to consider a levy for the purpose to support the operations and maintenance of the Ulm School District 85 Elementary General Fund.
Elementary School Levy Proposition
Shall the board of trustees be authorized to impose an increase in local taxes to support the general fund in the amount of Ninety-Five Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-Three DOLLARS ($95,753) per year which is approximately 58.77 mills, for the purpose of: Operating and Maintaining the school district for the 2026-2027 school year.
Passage of this proposal will increase the taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $44.67, on a home with a market value of $300,000 by approximately $134.00, and on a home with a market value of $600,000 by approximately $286.26. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs.
The durational limit of the levy is permanent once approved by the voters, assuming the district levies that amount at least once in the next five years.

This election will be conducted solely by mail ballot. Ballots will be mailed to all eligible registered voters in the District on April 16, 2026, and must be returned by each voter by mail to the Cascade County Election Office, P.O. Box 2305, Great Falls, Montana 59403-2305; or in person to the Cascade County Election Office, 325 2nd Ave North, Great Falls, Montana during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays).
On Election Day, May 5, 2026, voted ballots can be deposited at the Cascade County Election Office, 325 2nd Ave North, Great Falls, Montana, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A qualified voter who will be absent from this area during the time of the election is being conducted may: (a) vote in person in the Cascade County Election Office as soon as the ballots are available and until noon the day before the ballots are scheduled to be mailed; or (b) make a written request, signed by the applicant and addressed to the election administrator that the ballot be mailed to an address other than that which appears on the registration card. Written requests will be accepted until noon the day before the ballots are scheduled to be mailed.
If you miss the regular registration deadline of April 6 (30 days prior to the election), you may complete late registration beginning April 7 – through noon on May 4 (the day before the election), by going in person to the Cascade County Election Office. On election day, voters can update their registration information or reactivate their registration status and receive a ballot.
