URBANDALE SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE OF COST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRUNK SEWER EXTENSION - SOUTH OF AURORA TO MEREDITH DRIVE - CONTRACT 2 FOR THE URBANDALE SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT, IOWA At 3:30 P.M. on the 26th of March, 2026, the Board of Trustees of the Urbandale Sanitary Sewer District will, at 3600 86th Street, Urbandale, Iowa, hold a hearing and said Trustees proposes to adopt plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the Trunk Sewer Extension – South of Aurora to Meredith Drive – Contract 2. The description of the project is as follows: TRUNK SEWER EXTENSION - SOUTH OF AURORA TO MEREDITH DRIVE – CONTRACT 2 Construct the Trunk Sewer Extension - South of Aurora to Meredith Drive – Contract 2 including all materials, labor and equipment necessary for approximately 2,198 linear feet of 12" and 15" diameter sanitary sewer trenched installation, 132 linear feet of 12" sanitary sewer trenchless installation, connecting to existing manholes, excavation and backfill, traffic control, erosion control, seeding and other miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. The project is located in the 3300 block along and south of Aurora Avenue in the City of Urbandale. At said hearing, the Board of Trustees will consider the plans, specifications, proposed form of contract, and total estimated cost for the project, the same now being on file in the office of the Urbandale Sanitary Sewer District, reference to which is made for a more detailed and complete description of the proposed improvements, and at said time and place the said Board of Trustees will receive and consider any objections to said plans, specifications, estimate of cost and form of contract made by any interested party. This notice is given by order of the Board of Trustees of the Urbandale Sanitary Sewer District. URBANDALE SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT, IOWA By: D.J. Nawrocki ATTEST: Bill Henry, Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 1-2-26-26 ORDER PREPARATION OF DETAILED PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, NOTICE OF HEARING AND LETTING THE FORM OF CONTRACT WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has previously considered issues relating to the necessity of construction of a sanitary trunk sewer as part of the Trunk Sewer Extension South of Aurora to Meredith Drive – Contract 2 and has designated Bob Veenstra of Greenwood Consulting, LLC as Project Engineer to study such issue; WHEREAS, the District has been requested to construct a sanitary sewer in this area; and WHEREAS, detailed plans and specifications, notice of hearing and notice of letting and notice to bidders and form of contract should now be prepared and filed with the District Clerk; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Urbandale Sanitary Sewer District, as follows: Section 1. That the Project Engineer be and he is hereby instructed to prepare and file with the District Clerk detailed plans and specifications covering the Trunk Sewer Extension South of Aurora to Meredith Drive – Contract 2. Section 2. That the Project Engineer and the District's Attorney be and they are hereby instructed to prepare and file with the District Clerk notice of hearing and notice to bidders and form of contract covering the aforementioned improvement project. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Passed and approved this 26th day of February, 2026. D.J. Nawrocki, President ATTEST: Bill Henry, District Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 2-2-26-26 TO PROVIDE FOR A NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND PROPOSED FORM OF CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE COSTS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRUNK SEWER EXTENSION SOUTH OF AURORA TO MEREDITH DRIVE – CONTRACT 2 FOR THE URBANDALE SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT AND THE TAKING OF BIDS THEREFOR WHEREAS, detailed plans and specifications, notice of hearing and letting, form of contract and estimate of cost have been prepared and filed by the District's Engineer for the Trunk Sewer Extension South of Aurora to Meredith Drive – Contract 2 ("Project") for the Urbandale Sanitary Sewer District and have been examined by the Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to fix a time and place for taking bids on the Project and to advertise for sealed bids for the Project; and WHEREAS, it is also necessary to fix a time and place of public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications and form of contract and estimated cost for the Project and to provide for notice thereof. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the Urbandale Sanitary Sewer District, as follows: Section 1. That the detailed plans and specifications, notice of hearing and letting, form of contract and estimate of cost, referred to in the preamble hereof, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. That the Project is necessary and desirable for the District, and it is in the best interests of the District to proceed toward the construction of the Project. Section 3. That the amount of the bid security to accompany each bid is hereby fixed at 10% of the amount of the proposal. Section 4. That the 18th day of March, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., at the Urbandale Community Development and Engineering Public Works Building, 3600 86th Street, Urbandale, Iowa, is hereby fixed as the time and place of taking bids for the construction of the Project. Section 5. That the 26th day of March, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., at the meeting room, Urbandale Community Development & Engineering/Public Works Building, 3600 86th Street, Urbandale, Iowa, is hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs for the Project. Section 6. That the District Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of the aforesaid hearing and taking of bids by publication of notice in the Des Moines Register – Central Iowa Edition, newspapers of general circulation in the District, which publication shall be made March 6, 2026, all in conformity with Chapters 358 and 384 of the Code of Iowa. The said notices shall be in the form substantially similar to the Notice, which is attached to this Resolution. Section 7. That all provisions set out in the following form of notice are hereby recognized and prescribed by the Board of Trustees and that all resolutions or orders or parts thereof, to the extent the same may be in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
