Request for Sealed Bids
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed proposals will be received by the Utilities Board of Tuskegee, 204 West Lee Street, Tuskegee, Alabama 36083, until 3:30 p.m., Central Time, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for the chemical treatment (herbicide application) of electric powerline right-of-way, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m., Central Time, Thursday, July 30, 2026. Attendance is required for all prospective bidders. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Utilities Board of Tuskegee in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond, and satisfactory evidence of insurance at the time of contract execution, as required by the Contract Documents. Bid documents, including specifications and pre-approval forms, may be obtained from Rachael Harms, Hi-Line Engineering, by phone at (334) 728-2141 or by email at rachael.harms@gdsassociates.com. Only contractors who have been pre-approved in accordance with the requirements established by the Utilities Board of Tuskegee will be eligible to submit bids. Completed pre-approval forms must be submitted to Christopher Thompson at cthompson@yourubt.com no later than July 16, 2026. Bidders will be notified of their approval status on or before July 23, 2026. All bidders must be licensed pursuant to Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama (1975), as amended, and must include their current Alabama contractor's license number on the Bidder Pre-Approval Form. The license number must also be clearly displayed on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope. Failure to comply will result in rejection of the bid. The successful contractor shall perform not less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the total contract amount with its own forces. Subcontracting shall be limited to no more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the total contract amount. All subcontractors must be pre-approved by the Utilities Board of Tuskegee. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by Hi-Line Engineering. The Utilities Board of Tuskegee reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Owner.
