WRPT WQS Notice PUBLIC NOTICE: The Walker River Paiute Tribe (WRPT) is now providing a public notice to make comment, the date of a public hearing, and a date for the Tribal Council meeting for approval, under Section 303(c)(1) of the CWA and the EPA's implementing regulations at 40 CFR 131.20, because they have proposed Water Quality Standards for the interior boundaries of the Walker River Indian Reservation. Written comments related to the adoption of the draft Walker River Paiute Water Quality Standards (WQS) will be accepted until October 6, 2025. Any written questions/comments received during the comment period can be read and addressed at the public hearing. Public Hearing will be held on October 8, 2025, at 6 PM at the Schurz Community Center. Pursuant to 40 CFR 25.5 a 30-45-day notice of the meeting, for the Adoption of the Water Quality Standards, by the WRPT Tribal Council, must be given. The council meeting date will be October 23, 2025, at 6 PM at the Tribal Administration Building, 1022 Hospital Road in Schurz, Nevada. The Water Quality Standards (WQS) can be found at the Water Resources Department and at the Tribal Administration Building. They can also be viewed at the Tribal website, wrpt.org click on "Proposed Tribal Water Quality Standards" if you're interested in viewing this document. The Tribal Administration and Water Resource Building are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. September 10 2025 LNVS0333224
