Timber for Sale - INVITATION FOR BIDS
November 25, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
The bid opening will be held at the Wood County Parks & Forestry Office.

Sealed bids will be received under the procedures of § 28.11 (6)(b) of Wisconsin Statutes, until 4:00 p.m., November 24, 2025, at the Parks & Forestry Office at the Wood County River Block building, 2nd floor, Room 202, or hand delivered until 9:00 a.m., November 25, 2025, at the Parks & Forestry Office. Late bids will not be accepted. After all information and comments on the sales have been considered, the bids will be opened promptly at the previously mentioned location.
DESCRIPTION
The total acreage for sale is 229 acres with the following volumes represented (by species and product) based on standard utilization:
TONS / PULPWOOD:
Mixed HW = 3055, Aspen = 2595, Oak = 1690, White Pine = 1200, Red Pine = 955, Pine/Spruce = 60
MBF / SAWLOGS:
Mixed Hardwood = 49, Oak = 19
CORDS: Dead Oak Fuelwood = 27
CONTRACT LENGTH
Tracts 8-25, 9-25, 10-25, 12-25, & 14-25 are for 2 years; Tract 11-25 is for 3 years; Tract 1-25 is for 4 years
BIDDING
Bidders may operate ATV's on the county forest for viewing timber sales.Bids shall be filled out on bid forms provided and include a deposit of 20% for each tract.Bids that are incomplete or inaccurate may be subject to rejection.Contractors bidding on more than one tract must submit separate bids & deposits for each tract.Each bid must be in its own sealed envelope marked "Timber Sale Bid", "Bidder's Name" and "Tract #"Deposits for unsuccessful bids will be returned after bid opening.Deposits for successful bids will not be returned until all provisions of the contract are fulfilled.Irrevocable letters of credit from an acceptable institution may be substituted for a cash bond if desired.The Highway Infrastructure and Recreation Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids when in the best interest of Wood County.
