Worksession Tuesday, September 2, 2025 1. Opening of Meeting A. Call to Order – Worksession 25-17 Mayor Dierenfeld called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. B. Roll Call Members present: Tom Cope, James Evans, Rhonda Martin, Suresh Reddy (participated electronically), Bryan Burkhardt 2. Worksession Items A. Fotokite Demonstration by JGMFD The Council attended a demonstration presented by members of the JGMFD. B. Closed Session The Council entered into Closed Session pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(c) to discuss strategy with counsel in matters presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent, where disclosure would likely prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body. Motion by Evans, second by Martin, to enter Closed Session. Final Resolution: Motion Carried Yes: Cope, Evans, Martin, Burkhardt (Council Member Reddy experienced technical difficulties and did not audibly vote.) The meeting was in Closed Session from 6:01 p.m. to 6:43 p.m. C. Closed Session The Council entered into Closed Session pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(j) to discuss the purchase of particular real estate where premature disclosure could reasonably be expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay. The minutes and tape recording of this session will be available for public examination when the transaction is completed. Motion by Martin, second by Evans, to enter Closed Session. Final Resolution: Motion Carried Yes: Cope, Evans, Martin, Reddy, Burkhardt The meeting was in Closed Session from 6:45 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. 3. Agenda Review No items. 4.
